I was approached by a fellow fantasy football fanatic over the weekend about joining another fantasy football league. Since I’m already playing in 5 dynasty leagues, a dynasty auction league, as well as the new dynasty league I’m starting. in addition to my 4-5 redraft leagues, I really had to put some thought into the decision. I asked the usual questions on scoring, roster size and payouts and was comfortable with all of it but I was still not sold on adding my 13th league for the 2012-13 NFL Season.
So, I gave my buddy one last question, “Which website will be hosting your league?”
His reply?
ESPN
That settled it for me. No thanks.

Needless to say, he asked “Why,” so I explained “ With the sheer number of leagues I currently play in, the only way I join another league is if it’s hosted at My Fantasy League.” He began questioning me about MFL and I started rattling off some info about the site, which led to my realization that II should jot it down on the site and let all of you see my review.
Lets kick things off with the layout of the home page: www.myfantasyleague.com. Take a look and you will see its very clean, not over powered by too much flash or overwhelming colors plus it gets right to the point. However, the one thing that really stands out to me is…….. NO ADS.
I know that they have a paid service and it makes it easier for them to not have ads but, lets be honest, the lack of ads makes it easier to find what I need.
Of course, the meat and potatoes of what MFL offers is League Management. Their League Management Software is FULLY customizable. When I say fully customizable I mean you can literally do anything you want to your fantasy football league management page.
You can create a free trial league to try everything you want before paying for the software. Creating a league is very easy and MFL offers you step by step instructions on every page to help you get through the process of creating your league without missing stuff.
Just a few of the features:
Setup as many divisions in a league as you want- Include up to 96 franchises per league
- As many as 90 man rosters
- Literally any kind of scoring system you can dream up, scoring varies from a standards touchdown leagues all the way down to punt yardage you can even include coaches.
- You can create a roster/lineup with many variations from a few players to a full team with individual defensive players (IDP)
Drafting options vary from email drafts, slow drafts, auction drafts, and great live drafts with very user friendly draft rooms. I have used many other live draft rooms, such as yahoo and espn, and they do not offer the features that MFL does. Player news is listed inside the draft room, you can sort players by ADP, by teams, or by position.
You can chat to your whole league and you can chat privately with another team owner from the same chat window, which is great for discussing trades or talking trash behind your buddy’s back. Like when you told him to lock up the top Kicker early, so he picked a kicker in the first round. (Yes, Jason Hobbs has picked a kicker in the first round and we still talk trash about it) In addition to the drafts, the trades are very usesr friendly as well, allowing basic trades to trading future years draft picks, blind bid money, etc.
You can also put your league and team stamp on MFL, such as uploading team logos, changing the site design (choose from a number of free skins or coders can create their own), change up the site layout along with too many other features for me to name here without you falling asleep.
Hey! Wake up!!
The site has won league management awards over the years and recently won “2011 Best Fantasy League Manager Product”. So if you are thinking about starting a new league and want something to really make your league stand out from the rest, MFL is the place to go.
Leagues are always forming here at FFHD as well so if you are interested in joining one, which will definitely use the MFL software, contact me and we will get you taken care of.
If you have any questions, share them in the comments and I will do my best to get you an answer.

if you have that many fantasy teams, you need to check out http://app.pickemfirst.com
it’s a fantastic app that connects to all the commissioner sites including MFL
I would recommend this site to my worst enemy. It’s NOT user friendly at all! We almost lost our season because of the complications we had with the live auction draft! (beta) bullshit! Now we are having problems with trades going through, and free agent pick ups have never been more confusing and difficult! Our draft ended up lasting 8 hours!
I have been using MyFantasyLeague.com this past season (transferred from ESPN), and, in general, it’s OK (only), but if there was a way to make the webpage more user friendly, we’d definitely stay. Is there anyone out there who can help us to program our League through MFL.com to make it more user friendly? Would really appreciate the help.
Hey Dave what exactly do you have in mind with programming? With all the features they offer not to much customizing has been needed on our end. I can show you many leagues I have put together if you would like.
